Trainers
The recent turn in the economy has put those of us who's passion focused mainly on breeding and selling show and pleasure type weanlings in need of a GOOD trainer, or two.....Change can be a good thing, and in order to stay in the game we had to step up to the plate and find a trainer that fit our program. There is a lot of trial and error involved in finding the right fit. Not only does the trainer need to have the time to train but they also should committed to getting the job done. Because each horse is different the trainer must also be willing to adjust their program to fit the horses temperament and abilities. Your trainer should be approachable and accessible at all times. Then last but not least, your trainer needs to be aware of current trends and styles. They should know what's showing and winning in what even discipline they're training in. Yesterday's styles won't win in today's show pen. Know your market! and find a trainer that's at the top of their game in that market.
If your looking for a well rounded, sound minded trail horse, don't expect to find one at a Halter Barn. If your looking for a Western Pleasure Show horse don't try to find one at a World Class Hunter/Jumper barn.. If your looking for a AAA Barrel horse don't look at a Hunter prospect.
